Mech Daemons

Friday I tossed together a fun 2K point list and sent it up against a local Tau player who, for inexplicable reasons, has deployed his Fire Warriors and Broadsides as close to my army as they can possibly get... O_o

Of course I won...

I like vehicle spam because most of the time I play without vehicles, so it's a fun change of pace.  I especially like wacky Daemon vehicle spam, so I loaded up the table with them.  The list looked like this:

Tournament Report: Flying Circus FTW

Well, I've been really busy with a new job and other RL stuff, but I'm going to try and get back in on a regular schedule of posting, hopefully once on the weekends, and once mid-week.  So with that in mind, here's a series of quick, down and dirty battle reports from a three-round tournament I played in.

I used the following army:

How To Fight This: Tau

Today we'll talk about how to fight Tau.  For this example, we'll use the army JY2's Wraith spam army fought and was lucky to squeak out a Turn 5 win against.

Three Riptides with burst cannons and TL SMSes.  All have skyfire and interceptor.  Thankfully, that Hammerhead has an ion cannon rather than a rail gun.  There are 50 Fire Warriors, 21 Pathfinders and an allied Farseer with 3 jetbikes from the obsolete codex we'll just ignore.

Daemons at Wargamescon

I'm in NC on business this week, but no doubt most of you have seen Kenny Boucher and Gareth Hunt's lists that both made top four at Wargamescon.  Boucher is a tremendous painter, and has been placing high with Daemons in big tournies even back in 5th when they purportedly sucked.  He was like top 3 with Fatecrusher at Wargamescon last year as I recall.  Gareth was second at Feast of Blades.

I'm pleased to see that their lists were very different, both from mine and each other's.

Battle Report: Flying Circus Mirror Match

My ATC teammate and I decided to tests our lists against one another.  Only trouble is, they're practically the same.

ATC requires each team member to play a different primary army, and have a different allied detachment from each other army.  Also, you can't have two members with the same two armies, so no CSM/Daemons and Daemons/CSM on the same team.  So, for the nonce, I'm running pure Daemons, and my opponent this night has CSM/Daemons.  After getting womped by this army with his Drop Wolves, he's been running his own version of it and beating the faces of everyone who isn't me.  Can he beat me at my own game??????  WHO CAN KNOW!

I just wanted some thoughts from you and your community of followers on this outside of the box list (usually I run Fateweaver, Heldrake, CSM Daemon Prince and as many Daemons Daemon Princes as I can in a Flying Circus.) and the general style of forgoing flyers, and since daemons40k is the most Chaos Focused site that I am aware of  could not think of a better place to look for some brainstorming.
